Lepide Event Log Manager is an ideal real-time event management solution that collects, analyzes and reports event logs from configured computers. Using this application, you can easily manage two types of event logs:
- Windows Event Logs- Windows event logs are the logs of events occurred on the Windows application installed on every configured computer. These events are listed with details such as Computer Name, Event Date, Event Time, Event ID, Event Type and Event Description. Using this information, an administrator can have a fair idea about every Windows event.
- W3C Event Logs- W3C event logs are the logs of events occurred online on the computer systems added under Lepide Event Log Manager. These events are listed with details such as Event Date and Time, Client IP, Server IP, Server Port No, Requested Method, Requested URL and Requested Status details. These event logs let the administrator know about all the web events on the computers.
Set rules for event processing and skip selected events from any computer during event collection. Using these settings, administrator can pre-define the events processing rules for a computer and thereby can optimize the events processing rules for a computer. Respecting the settings so made by the administrator, Lepide Event Log Manager fetches all the events, if rules are not configured. Hence, you can skip selected events from a computer during event collection by setting event processing rules.
With thousands of events so occurring daily, administrator might find it complicated to meticulously analyze all events thoroughly. In order to simplify this entire network analysis process, administrator can use process event filtration options. This helps them in viewing only the desired events. Lepide Event Log Manager makes the process so simple yet so effective.
The software allows you to save the events in four different formats i.e. HTML, TXT, DOC and RTF. Using these options user can save the event logs as per their requirement and can view the same in future for referring issues for particular events.
You can email the saved events in two ways- By using Default Mail Server Settings or by using Different Mail Server Settings. Use Default Mail Server Settings option allows you to send the email to the user you configured during setting the default mail server settings and if you select Use Different Mail Server Settings option, then you need to define Event Log Name, Outgoing Mail Server, Port No, Sender's Email Address, Subject and Email Address of the Recipient.
All these options make the event log management process quite easy. Efficient event and application log management surely minimizes system downtime, increases network performance and allow administrator to employ required security policies in an organization.
