Thanks for your query! If you have more than one instance in a Single SQL server then it depends upon the number of instances you have. For ex. if you have one SQL server and you have 2 instances then you will need 2 licenses for LepideAuditor for SQL Server. Here is the difference between SQL Server and Instances: Instance names are generally used if you plan to have multiple instances of SQL installed on the same server. In this case, different instances would have different names. The installation with instance would be configured as part of "Named instance" during installation. The one with only server name (and without any added instance name) is treated as the default instance and the ability to connect to it depends on whether or not default instance is enabled during installation.
