Though, the AD self service software facilitates the end-users and administrator to perform self-password reset, self-account unlock, and self-information update from any computer using the web browser, it does not mean that anyone can access and use the software.

During configurations of mail server settings, admin sends the complete software URL to the users by generating emails. The mail server name and the sender email address is automatically fetched by the software and users are only required to enter the port address and valid password to gain access to the user console of LADSS.

Both the system admin and the end users need to specify the correct login credentials to use the Lepide Active Directory Self Service tool. In case, the wrong user name or password is provided, the self service portal will not allow the admin / end user to perform any action. In that case, the software displays the corresponding message prompting invalid authentication:


If the admin will not provide the valid user name and password, then he will not be able to configure self-service policies, generate user reports, and send email notification to anyone.

  • An end-user needs to provide the correct answers for the security questions to perform self-password reset and self-account unlock. If valid security answers are not provided then the end-user cannot reset password or unlock account.
