Lepide Named Key Player in Granular Permissions Market Projected to Reach $7.9 Billion by 2030

Inclusion in The Business Research Company’s 2026 report reflects growing demand for least-privilege access control across identity, data, and AI security.

Lepide Software Pvt. Ltd. has been named among the key players in the global granular permissions market in the Business Research Company’s Granular Permissions Global Market Report 2026. The report lists Lepide alongside Microsoft, Google, AWS, Okta, CyberArk, SailPoint, Saviynt, and Delinea.

Market Expected to Nearly Double by 2030

The Business Research Company estimates the global granular permissions market will grow from $3.32 billion in 2025 to $3.96 billion in 2026. It forecasts the market will reach $7.9 billion by 2030, a compound annual growth rate of 18.8% from 2026 to 2030.

The report attributes this growth to wider adoption of zero trust security, rising investment in identity and access management, the expansion of cloud security, and AI- driven security automation. It defines the market as covering fine-tuned access control, role-based permissions, identity and access management, data security, and compliance management.

“As AI makes existing access more powerful,” said Aidan Simister, CEO at Lepide. “Getting permissions right has never been more important. Being recognised in this market reflects the direction we’re seeing from customers: more focus on least privilege, data access, and understanding exactly who can get to sensitive information.”

Why Granular Permissions Matter

Granular permissions let organizations control which users can access specific data, applications, and resources, and what they can do with them, rather than relying only on broad access controls.

Over time, users often accumulate more access than they need through group memberships, role changes, and inherited permissions. This permission sprawl can leave sensitive data open to people with no business reason to see it. Granular controls support the principle of least privilege by helping limit each user to the access required for their role or legitimate business need.

AI Raises the Stakes

Generative AI tools such as Microsoft 365 Copilot can surface information a user already has permission to access. Where data is overshared or access is stale, AI can make that information far easier to find and use. As a result, securing AI adoption requires organizations to understand which identities can access sensitive data and whether that access is appropriate, before and after deployment.

Lepide’s Data Access Governance capabilities help organizations analyze effective permissions and user activity, identify and remediate excessive access, and monitor changes to permissions and data access. For Microsoft 365 Copilot, Lepide supports assessing sensitive data exposure before rollout and monitoring Copilot usage, risky prompts, and sensitive data accessed afterward.
