1. Issue

Certain folders need to be excluded from permission-based reports in Lepide Data Security Platform. These folders should not be included in inheritance-based auditing and reporting.

2. Resolution

To exclude a folder from inheritance and ensure it is not included in reports, follow the steps below:

Step 1: Disable Inheritance on the Target Folder

• Navigate to the shared folder that you want to exclude.

• Right-click on the folder and select Properties.

• Go to the Security tab.

• Click on Advanced.

• Click on Disable inheritance.

• Choose the appropriate option (convert or remove inherited permissions as required).

Step 2: Verify in Lepide Data Security Platform

• Open the Lepide Data Security Platform.

• Navigate to Permission and Privileges.

• Go to Current Permission Analysis.

• Select Permissions by Object.

3. Expected Outcome

• The folder with disabled inheritance will be highlighted in red.

• This indicates that inheritance is disabled for that folder.

• Reports will now be generated only for folders with inheritance enabled, effectively excluding the selected folder from auditing reports.
