Unauthorized Changes Detected in Application Files

Issue:

While launching the Lepide Data Security Platform, the following error appears and the application crashes:

“Unauthorized changes detected in application files. The application cannot be launched due to modified or replaced .exe or .dll files in the installation directory. Please restore the original files or contact Lepide Support for assistance.”

Cause:

This issue typically occurs when certain application files (such as .exe or .dll) are modified, replaced, or flagged by security tools like antivirus, leading to integrity check failure within the Lepide application.

Resolution:

Please follow the steps below to resolve the issue:

  • Navigate to the Lepide installation directory.

    • Example: E:\Lepide Data Security Platform

  • In the directory, search for either of the following files:

    • LepideScanner

    • LepideScanner.exe

  • Rename files (for example, add .old at the end of the file name).

  • After renaming the files, restart the Lepide Data Security Platform Main Console.

Result:

After completing the above steps, the application should launch successfully without showing the error.

Additional Notes:

  • Ensure that antivirus or security tools are not blocking or modifying Lepide application files.

  • If the issue persists, consider restoring the original files or reinstalling the application.

If the issue continues, please contact Lepide Support for further assistance.
