Issue Summary

Microsoft 365 Copilot user interaction activities are visible in Microsoft Purview but are not appearing in Lepide Auditor reports. Copilot activities such as prompts, responses, and resources accessed across Teams, Word, Outlook, and other M365 apps are not being captured in Lepide.

Root Cause

Lepide retrieves Microsoft 365 Copilot interaction history using the following Microsoft Graph API:

graph.microsoft.com/beta/copilot/users/{strUserId}/interactionHistory/getAl lEnterpriseInteractions?$filter={encodedFilter} 

This API captures the user's intent, resources accessed by Copilot, and the responses provided to the user across Microsoft 365 apps such as Teams and Outlook.

This API requires a valid Microsoft 365 Copilot license with the Microsoft Copilot with Graphgrounded chat service plan. Lepide will only audit the Copilot data of users who possess this valid license. If a user does not have the necessary license, the API returns the following error:

Each user whose Copilot activity needs to be audited must have the following Microsoft license and service plan assigned:

Additional Note

Currently, the only API provided by Microsoft to retrieve a user's Copilot interaction history is the one listed above. Other available options such as eDiscovery are not stable and provide only partial data.

Resolution

Copilot activity data appears in Lepide once the Microsoft 365 Copilot license with the Graph-grounded chat service plan is assigned to the relevant users. No Lepide configuration changes are required.
