How to Export Permissions Across Full Folder Hierarchy in Lepide

Summary

When exporting permissions directly from the report view, only a partial data set may be returned. To export permissions for all folders under a selected hierarchy in a single report, use the Schedule Report option on the Permission by Object report.

Issue Description

When a user attempts to save or export data directly from the Permission by Object report view, the export does not capture permissions for the complete folder hierarchy. Only top-level or partial permission data is included in the output.

Resolution

To export the full folder hierarchy permissions in a single report, use the Schedule Report option as described in the steps below.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Open the Permission by Object Report – Navigate to “Permission and Privileges” and then to “Current Permission Analysis”.

2. Right-click on the Report – Right-click on the “Permission by Object” report.

3. Click “Schedule Report” – Select the Schedule Report option from the context menu.

4. Configure the Report Settings – Follow the on-screen instructions to set the scope, frequency, and output format for the report.

5. Provide Your Email Address – Enter a valid email address where the completed report should be delivered.

6. Generate the Report – Complete the wizard and submit. The report covering all folders under the selected hierarchy will be generated and emailed to you.

Expected Outcome

Upon completion, you will receive an email containing a full permissions export for all folders within the selected hierarchy. This report includes data that is not available when saving or exporting directly from the view.
